The Senior Girls and Boys Basketball Team from Monaro High School got the opportunity to travel from the bottom to the top of Australia to play basketball and experience the environment and culture in the Northern Territory.
Both Noah and Will represented our local Ngarigo community and learnt a lot about their fellow Indigenous peoples’ cultures, while experiencing the incredible nature with their peers.
Both teams played unbelievably well, made friends with new people, were good sports in their losses and modest during their triumphs.
Students got to explore Katherine and Kakadu, and swim at Mataranka. It was an unreal experience and a learning curve for our Indigenous and non-Indigenous students alike! Teachers had a great time and were proud of the students’ mature behaviour during the tour!
